A Pioneering Community

Within us all there’s a longing to be part of a community and have the sense of belonging that comes with that.

As pioneers there is often an element of what we do that is on the edge, it can sometimes be lonely, it’s sometimes misunderstood.

That’s part of the reason we have designed the Fresh Expressions – Stories app. As a space to connect and belong.

One of the dictionary definitions of community I came across in writing this article is:

‘the condition of sharing or having certain attitudes and interests in common.’

When we connect with other pioneers there is that sense of understanding, a likemindedness, an appreciation. We might not always agree on what we do or how we do it but we get why we’re doing it.

The app is designed to give us a space to connect. It’s a space to share our stories, celebrate our successes and our sadnesses, encourage one another, offer prayer for one another. It’s an open forum to ask questions of people who might have gone there before us or have experience they can share from. The stories can challenge our thinking and give us moments of ‘maybe that would work here’. We may not be able to get together in person that often but the app gives us a way to connect in to something bigger than ourselves that helps us to belong.

That’s why we would love you to be part of building this community. We can post our stories but really this is about your stories and your interactions with one another.

If you’d like to be part of building this space where pioneers can connect and support one another, you can download the app today at the Apple iTunes Store or the Google Play Store.
