The Fountain of Life is a missionary congregation of the Church of England: a network church with a call and vision to see the heartland of Norfolk transformed by the presence and power of God. We are based in the village of Ashill but serve a wider area.
Our vision is to be:
- a place in which each person can discover intimacy with God
- an inclusive family that demonstrates what it means to be loved by one another
- a people who welcome the power of the Holy Spirit to transform lives and release hope
We invest in missional communities. These are usually lay-led and lightweight in structure, formed around location, age or interest group. They meet in homes, schools, community centres and even in the forest. They seek to be rooted in what the Holy Spirit is doing within the community and fired by vision. We now have as many people connected to these communities as are in membership at the hub church.
We value the family of God as a place of belonging for all ages, not just for children and young people. For example, once a month Good Companions offers Sunday afternoon tea, entertainment, companionship and prayer for the retired.
Our aim is to have a golden thread which connects the ages together in such a way that at every stage of life there is a route of discipleship and a way of belonging. Our Kidz Klub team engage with some 23 schools as well as leading monthly Kidz Klubs for unchurched children. We are offering a mentoring service in schools in partnership with TLG.
Social action is such an important part of mission and in today’s world of austerity essential. Amongst other initiatives, we have established a CAP debt centre to serve mid-Norfolk
We have weekly discipleship groups, a school of theology, a thriving Pre-School, and we attempt to walk with people through all issues of life: singleness and marriage, parenting and loss, struggles and joys, faith in the workplace, health or financial concerns, the general warp and weft of life.
