FX Leadership Community
'The overarching purpose of the leadership community is to be responsive to and for the FX movement by ‘fanning the flames’ of the networks that are part of it, holding a common apostolic vision for the movement.'
In 2019 Fresh Expressions moved from an organisation to a movement and from an elected leader, to a community of movement leaders.
The fx Leadership Community is made up of influencers and connectors within a Fresh Expression or pioneer network. They were initially invited by the transition team to participate in leading the fx movement during an interim period. As this community emerges an important principle is that ‘the total is greater than the sum of their parts’.

As a Church Army Evangelist, Andy has been involved in youth evangelism for over 20 years. He pioneered Sorted with his wife Tracy – a youth church in Bradford that subsequently multiplied. He has a son called Sam, a dog called Dude and likes to travel and explore new places…

Andrew Vertigan
Board representative for the fx Leadership Community
For the last five years Andrew and his wife Andrea been leading on all things FX and pioneering in a national role for the Salvation Army. 'We love what we do and are blessed to support, encourage and help equip a growing movement of pioneers within the Salvation Army and wider afield.' They have been involved in a few church plants as leaders over the past 25 years, particularly focusing on reaching disengaged and challenging young adults within education. I have a areal passion to see the church reaching out to the margins of society in culturally and contextual ways. 'Jesus came that we might have life in all its fullness. I long to see THE CHURCH truly embodying this.'

Cate Williams
