Meet the Board

The purpose of the charity is 'to serve the Fresh Expressions movement and help it flourish'.

The relationships within and between the charity, the movement, the leadership community and contractors can be illustrated as follows:

The fx movement is served by the charity and the leadership community through:

  • Prophetic listening to the voice of the Spirit in the movement,
  • Advocating for contextual mission and fx practitioners,
  • Connecting individuals and networks enabling collaboration
  • Affirming and championing these individuals and networks.

Andrew Vertigan

Board representative for the fx Leadership Community

For the last five years Andrew and his wife Andrea been leading on all things FX and pioneering in a national role for the Salvation Army. 'We love what we do and are blessed to support, encourage and help equip a growing movement of pioneers within the Salvation Army and wider afield.' They have been involved in a few church plants as leaders over the past 25 years, particularly focusing on reaching disengaged and challenging young adults within education. I have a areal passion to see the church reaching out to the margins of society in culturally and contextual ways. 'Jesus came that we might have life in all its fullness. I long to see THE CHURCH truly embodying this.'

A more detailed look at how the fx board, leadership community and contractors work together and how they seek to fulfil the aims set before them to grow the movement.

The fx Leadership Community is made up of influencers and connectors within a Fresh Expression or pioneer network.  As this community emerges an important principle is that ‘the total is greater than the sum of their parts’.
