For such a time as this…
Recently I have been reminded on several occasions it is the smallest or simplest of things that can make a big difference to each of us. For me it has been a text from a friend saying they are praying, catching up on life with a loved one and good company over a meal when the world has been set right. In the past I know it has been the sight of the moon appearing from behind a cloud, a red sunrise, the smell of freshly picked blackcurrants, the chirping of a robin. I wonder what it has been for you. What brings you joy?
As we wait for the celebration of Christmas in this Advent season it seems we can miss the small things as we wait. Partly because we are too eager for Christmas Day or they get lost in the rush, the business, and the noise.
“The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighbourhood.
John 1; 14
As we celebrate the profound simple birth of a small baby at Christmas may you notice and be reminded the smallest and simplest things can make a big difference.
May the word become flesh in us,
May the Word move into our neighbourhoods.
Help us to see,
To join in,
To be filled with joy…
For such as time as this…
Have a great Christmas,
Suzie, Mark, Simon and Tim
